High School diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of clerical, computer, and customer service experience. Human Service, serving disadvantaged, experience preferred.

The incumbent must have a professional and personable image, well organized, able to maintain accurate records, able to work independently and use the computer. The incumbent must be able to organize and follow through with duties demonstrating the capability of handling several different and ongoing projects. The incumbent must be able to cope with the pressure of deadlines and be flexible in regard to job tasks and duties. The incumbents’ position includes working with clients one-on-one, making phone calls, sending and responding to emails, facilitating onboarding, tracking program specific data and reporting. Must be proficient in typing, excel, utilizing databased systems to record and monitor information, possess good telephone skills and work well under stress in order to deal appropriately with the general public as well as with various types of internal and external customers, in a culturally respectful and appropriate manner. The Program Support Technician must have experience speaking effectively to various small groups in a presenting/informative role.

The position requires sitting for extended periods and using a computer keyboard for a minimum of four hours each day.

The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality regarding agency and client records and information.

A valid Colorado driver’s license without a history of violations is also required. Overtime and/or weekend hours may be required when necessary as well as some travel to attend meetings and required training.


Work Services

The Program Support Technician will function as a resource for clients during program onboarding. Responsibilities include: entering program participants into the database, gathering and processing required paperwork, scanning documents into the database, and verifying required onboarding paperwork. The incumbent will perform administrative clerical duties as assigned, record necessary messages and information and schedule appointments. In addition, the incumbent will have the ability to meet deadlines, demonstrate a strong attention to detail in order to respond to special requests of the program manager. The Program Support Technician will make data entries and retrievals as necessary to accomplish duties and develop a thorough working knowledge of all pertinent operating procedures in regard to all computer systems utilized.

Processing, Tracking and Reporting

The Program Support Technician will assist in maintaining a complete file of all records, documents, communications and other material which pertain to the operation of the program. The incumbent will also assist in recording attendance/absences of program participants and report it to the required personnel. The incumbent will send and respond to emails and make telephone calls to program participants. The incumbent will be expected to maintain confidentiality regarding agency and client records and information.

Relationship Management

The Program Support Technician will communicate routinely and consistently with all co-workers, staff and customers. The incumbent will maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with the State of Colorado, community partners and Goodwill staff. The incumbent will assist with special projects and serve on committees as needed, attend all pertinent staff and other meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.

Research and Industry Involvement: The Program Support Technician is required to research, keep updated by reading trade journals as needed to be aware of trends, theories, or initiatives within the industry and instruction techniques. The incumbent will seek out seminars and symposiums for ideas and stay current with trends, tools, and resources available. The Program Support Technician must maintain a working and current knowledge of Goodwill Industries’ policies and procedures as well as community resources, services available through the Business Center and all classes offered through the Career Development Center (CDC).
