REPORTS TO: Director of Hotel Operations

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

PAY STATUS: Exempt

Primary Function: Responsibilities to include online and digital presence, media relations, marketing, SEO strategies and advertising for Biltmore Farms Hotels and its properties. Also focus on developing and managing E-commerce efforts, oversees social media channels, reputation management, and internal marketing support to sales department. Works to maintain a collaborative effort with all divisions within the Biltmore Farms company.

Job Requirements:
Ability to lead the creative direction for the hotels to build relevancy and cutting-edge concepts that will help create demand.
Oversees online and digital marketing for property brand sites and vanity sites, as well as secondary websites and other booking travel sites (OTAs)
Maintains brand standards for each Biltmore Farms Hotels property across all mediums, as well as serves as marketing liaison for online content, brand marketing and social media
Media Relations: Serves as hotel division media relations contact, maintaining relationships with local, regional and national media; writes and distributes press releases as needed
Biltmore Farms Hotels SEO strategies – Focus on building our website’s placement in search engines, through partnership with Milestone, as well as property brand initiatives
Sales Department: provides internal marketing support to sales department, through creation of sales and promotional collateral, tradeshow items and other items as needed
Advertising: Creates online, print and radio advertising through graphic design and copywriting, as well as oversees advertising approval and scheduling
Maintains relationships with external vendors and explores relationships with new vendors for various marketing and branding projects. Negotiates contracts with vendors when applicable.
Community Relations – Working to find creative ways to enhance our relationships with area partners. Accounts focus: Asheville Chamber, Asheville CVB, Sports Commission, UNC Asheville, Studio Wed, Park Partners, Biltmore Village
Oversees all social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram
Photography – Coordinates all property photoshoots with brand-approved photographers, as well as maintains updated photo database
Oversees online reputation management through Trip Advisor, Revinate, etc.
Works closely with other divisions within company to create a synergistic marketing effort.
Assists HR department with Biltmore Farms recruitment marketing efforts, serving as contact for marketing efforts
Coordinates all promotional items for various trade shows and client gifts
Coordinates trade agreements with external vendors and clients as needed
Oversees marketing efforts for DoubleTree and Hilton Catering
Develop marketing budget and view monthly expenses to ensure budget is met.
Complete any additional tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Cutting-edge video production for social media, website.
Combining marketing tools with revenue management to help build demand.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Trained to implement all job requirements, and have knowledge updated by participating in brand training required by Hilton and Marriott brands. Strong writing skills, knowledge of online booking tools, experience with Adobe and Photoshop, and website content management experience are preferred.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Minimum of two years hotel/tourism experience preferred and two years experience in web site / publication marketing.

EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT:
Minimum of four years of college (Bachelors Degree) required. Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing is preferred.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Have frequent internal contacts with a variety of staff within the company. External contacts include industry partners, meeting planners and the public at large. All contacts are for the purpose of exchanging or providing information and require tact, courtesy and professional decorum.

CONFIDENTIAL DATA:
Has access to inter-departmental memos and database information, which are considered confidential and would not be in the company’s best interest to disclose. Company financial records and any employee information are all included.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY:
Computer entries and correspondence must be accurate and well maintained. Proofing procedures must be established for all advertising objectives. This also applies to preparatory work in photography sessions.

MENTAL/VISUAL/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
The degree of concentration varies from slight to intense based on the work being performed. Position is subject to frequent interruptions, which require varied responses.

While performing duties of this job, the incumbent is routinely required to be mobile, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Subject to occasional lifting and carrying of supplies to other designated locations. Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity.
