Game Designer – Mobile F2P

We are seeking a Mobile Game Designer with passion for and experience in F2P mobile game design and monetization. Join us on the ground floor to grow the Goosebumps franchise and soon to be announced Hollywood property with a huge fan base. Game designer needs to bring knowledge of current F2P monetization methods and collaborate with our team to help build up monetization for action / adventure mobile games.

We are relatively new game company developing and publishing branded games for casual, mid-core game players and game noobs who have found the joy of video games through their iOS or Android device. Hardcore console elites with passion for GTA, Call of Duty, endless world premium titles etc, we love you but this position is not a good fit.

Small team focused on live operations and collaborating with internal and external game developers for production. Our team is virtual / remote and meets at co-working office space in the Bay Area. On-site and off-site work with creative director, marketing, other game designers, mobile game product manager, Unity engineers and 3D/UI asset creators on game balance and free-to-play features during design and production of the initial release, live ops after release and future updates.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Balance game systems, economies, and events for millions of players
  • Maintain game meta-strategy and content rollout
  • Design and Maintain the core gameplay loop, balance and monetization
  • Provide clear feature documentation, diagrams, wireframes and/or prototypes
  • Analyze data to inform design, update content and implement new features
  • Lead and collaborate with team to design gameplay loop, monetization and retention goals for initial release and live ops.

Skills

  • Minimum 2 years game industry with experience on successful mobile F2P shipped titles built in Unity
  • Passion for games and able to break down and articulate their strengths and weaknesses
  • Knowledge and passion for current F2P mobile games on the market and monetization strategy
  • Deep understanding of core gameplay and monetization loops
  • Ability to deal with constant change informed by data analytics, brand owners, marketing, product manager and other designers.
  • Highly collaborative. Ability to take direction and lead. Maintain a high level of integrity by articulating your positions and listening to feedback, marketing and brand owners.
  • Have passion to work on branded games. Work within the boundaries of an established property with a fan base.
  • Bonus points for experience with MOBA
