Schedule: Part Time Direct Care Position in Sparta, NJ
Shift: 16hrs (Friday 11:00pm - 7:00am and Saturday, 11:00pm - 7:00am).
All staff must attend a monthly Staff Meeting – date/time to be determined and announced in advance.
Meeting waivers are provided for conflicts due to secondary employment and/or school (appropriate documentation required).
Salary: $10.00 - 11.00 per hour

Job Requirements: This career requires HS diploma or equivalent, a valid (non-provisional) driver’s license; experience with ID/DD population is a plus and the ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.

What’s the role of a Awake Overnight Residential Counselor?: Although the majority of time will be spent cleaning, the primary responsibility of the Awake Overnight Residential Counselor is to manage the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the home. Staff must remain awake and alert throughout the shift. While residents are sleeping, overnight staff complete housekeeping tasks, assist their team by preparing for the following day or assist residents with any personal needs that may arise during the night. In the morning, they assist with completing the morning routine, including personal hygiene care, administer and/or supervise medication administration and provide individuals with transportation to their jobs, using agency vehicles. Staff must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes. This job requires daily written documentation. The employee will cooperate with the agency's administration and/or Division and DHS staff in any inspection or investigation.
