PUC National is a non-profit organization that serves to promote, support, benefit, replicate, and carry out the purposes and mission of Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools).

We have a contractual relationship with Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC Schools) to provide a variety of support services to the schools in NE Los Angeles and the NE San Fernando Valley. This includes, but are not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Operations, IT and Data Management, facilities identification and acquisition, fundraising, grant management, college access, alumni relations, charter development and renewal, and compliance.

Job Purpose

The ideal Finance Intern believes in, and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC National and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection and collaboration to ensure schools’ success across the organization. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Intern will assist the Finance Department as needed.

Qualifications
Essential Duties and responsibilities, listed but not limited, below:

Match up invoices / packing slips / check request forms – verifying all information is complete and accurate including GL coding and appropriate approval
Verify coding issues or problems with Accounts Payable Representative
Enter Invoices into the system and generate check batch processing for Accounts Payable Representative
Organize, scan and file all AP documents
Performs other related duties as required

Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications

A.A. degree or currently enrolled in college (Accounting or Finance major preferred)
Advance working knowledge of Excel
Experience with multi locations
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, time and project management experience a must
Non-profit experience a plus
Ability to communicate with different constituents
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.

Salary & Benefits

$13.25-$14.10/hour
20 hours per week
