ADI at a Glance

ADI helps customers bridge the physical and digital worlds with unmatched technologies that solve real-life problems and make the world smarter, healthier, greener and safer. With over $5 billion in revenue, ADI specializes in high-performance analog, mixed-signal, power, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits that sense, measure, interpret, connect, power, secure and transform how the world experiences the world around them.

Analog Devices (ADI) Power Business Unit designs, manufactures, and markets a broad line of high performance analog integrated circuits. We presently offer over 5,000 standard power products that include linear regulators, DC/DC converters, and battery chargers. Our ICs are found in products made by thousands of customers including JPL, Apple, Cisco, Tesla, and Toyota. Our products are produced using state-of-the-art silicon gate CMOS, BiCMOS, Complimentary Bipolar, High Voltage and RF bipolar wafer fabrication process technologies.

Analog Devices Power Business Unit was formerly Linear Technology Corporation, acquired by ADI in 2017. The power business has grown steadily during its 30-year history. The business unit completed its last fiscal year in June 2019 with $1.5 billion in sales and a worldwide head count of approximately 4000 employees. Analog Devices’s stock is publicly traded on the NASDAQ system under the symbol ADI and is a component of the S&P 500. Our overall strategy remains steadfastly committed to analog excellence: achieving the highest levels of design innovation, customer problem solving, product quality and reliability, and corporate financial performance.

Summer interns at Power Business Unit of Analog Devices would have the opportunity to work on circuit design, simulation, verification, circuit modeling, board level circuit work, testing, circuit applications, and lab work. The intern will typically work with one or two direct mentors from the design engineer community.

One example of a Summer internship assignment is the design and implementation of a new and unique DC/DC converter prototype that uses TLVR (trans inductor voltage regulator) technology. This prototype will be used to investigate this TLVR architecture using existing ADI buck regulators. The intern tasks will include board design of a multiphase buck regulators with new TLVR components and designing test circuits to evaluate the architecture performance such as transient response, efficiency, size and thermal trade off. Simulation tools such as LTSPICE, SIMPLIS and others will be used to aid in the various design tasks and analysis.

This Summer internship opportunity in the ADI Power Business Unit is located at North Chelmsford, MA. The length of the internship is 3 months
