As an In-House Writer at GoodShort, you will be at the forefront of our content creation process. You will craft original scripts, develop engaging storylines, and collaborate with other creatives to produce high-quality short-form videos. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that our content is innovative, relevant, and appealing to our diverse audience. Also, you will play a crucial role in adapting our content for various international markets. You will work closely with our content creators, translators, and marketing teams to ensure that our videos, subtitles, and promotional materials are culturally relevant, accurate, and compelling in different languages. Responsibilities:
Scriptwriting:
- Write, edit, and revise scripts for a variety of short-form video formats, including narratives, documentaries, and promotional content.
- Develop engaging and concise dialogue that aligns with our brand voice and appeals to our target audience.
- Generate original ideas and concepts for new video content.
- Conduct research to ensure accuracy and relevance of content.
- Work closely with directors, producers, and other writers to develop cohesive and compelling storylines.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to creative discussions.
- Review and edit scripts to ensure clarity, coherence, and consistency.
- Proofread content for grammatical accuracy and adherence to style guidelines.
- Understand and anticipate the interests and preferences of our audience to create content that resonates with them.
- Utilize feedback from viewers to refine and improve content.
- Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
- Maintain organized records of drafts, revisions, and final versions of scripts.
Localization/Adaptation:
- Adapt scripts, dialogues, and narratives to fit the cultural context and linguistic nuances of target markets.
- Ensure that humor, idioms, and cultural references are appropriately localized for different regions.
- Review and proofread translated content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and fluency.
- Collaborate with translators and editors to resolve any linguistic or cultural issues.
- Work with content creators to understand the tone, style, and intent of the original content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to localize promotional materials and campaigns.
- Provide insights and guidance on cultural trends, preferences, and sensitivities in target markets.
- Conduct research to stay updated on regional language trends and viewer preferences.
- Manage multiple localization projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and project requirements.
- Bilingual in Mandarin is a plus.
