The Role:
The VP Marketing is responsible for growing our online marketplace by way of designing, implementing, and optimizing a wide range of online marketing strategies focused on demand generation and user acquisition.

The ideal candidate is a master of digital acquisition, with a proven track record growing online businesses through effective user and customer acquisition campaigns. The VP Marketing will lead a team of marketers, he/she will help set and own the online budget as well as the relevant KPI.

This is a key position for the business. The VP Marketing will report to the CEO and will be part of the Executive Team, deciding on company strategy and plans, presenting to board of directors, senior clients, and other external/internal stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Digital marketing:
Define, implement and oversee our user and customer acquisition strategies through multiple digital channels, including: PPC, SEO/SEM, social media, email, mobile, display, affiliate, programmatic, etc.
Work closely with the Partnerships team to negotiate and secure white-label distribution agreements with large publishers
Lead a data-driven approach towards optimization and scale of user and customer acquisition campaigns through systematic analysis and A/B testing, constantly looking for opportunities to increase conversions and/or reduce costs
Guide our product and engineering teams to ensure our website and apps track and are able to report on the right metrics
Create robust plans and projections to help the company define the online marketing budgets and operational goals on a quarterly and annual basis
Develop strategies and moonshots that accelerate the growth of the business through insights and experimentation

Commercial / Sales:
Support sales efforts and customer acquisition through effective inbound and outbound strategies
Join important sales calls and meetings such as proposal bid defense presentations
Ensure your team provides reliable guidance and projections to sales teams, in order to prepare customer proposals (e.g. acquisition volume and cost over time for specific projects)
Establish smooth communications and processes between sales, commercial operations and marketing teams to deliver on contracted projects
You will be responsible for the Digital Marketing team, setting a goal-driven management style, encouraging independent work and constructive trusting team spirit
Ensure that your team meets or exceeds those goals within the agreed budget
Maintain a holistic and strategic view of our performance against plans, anticipating potential issues, and proposing creative alternatives when needed
Ensure there’s a clear and consistent understanding throughout the company of how digital marketing strategies fit within the overall business mission
Able and willing to do as well as lead/mentor others

5+ years of performance marketing work experience; min. 3 years managing a team. Background in online marketplaces, a huge plus
Deep knowledge of paid channels such as AdWords, Facebook, etc., acquisition strategies, and analytics tools
Previous experience with managing budgets and a proven record of demonstrating strong return on investment
Strong leadership skills, proven ability to build, motivate and lead team to achieve results
Passion for data and strong understanding of direct response marketing, audiences, testing frameworks, etc.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills – must have both a curiosity and the skills to analyze and make meaning out of data and translate data into action
Expertise in marketing automation and CRM platforms - Salesforce and HubSpot a plus
Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant field

Nice to Have

Experience with Jira, Looker, Hubspot, SalesForce,, … (NOTE: add other tools/apps as needed)
Healthcare business experience, ideally in clinical trials and research sites (clinics, hospitals) would be a big plus, although we appreciate this is going to be the exception rather than the rule
Good design skills and an eye for great user experience
