About the Opportunity:
DMI (Digital Management, LLC.) is looking for a TS Cleared Senior Database Administrator to support Federal customer with providing IT technical support which includes the continuing development of IT capabilities. The position is located in Washington, DC.
Supporting Counterintelligence Division of the FBI. This is a new team that will be reviewing existing applications, including duplicated applications and making recommendations for ways to combine features to reduce duplication of effort, improve current systems, and help create a roadmap for moving forward to implement new technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage MS SQL, NoSQL databases on a day-to-day basis.
Be able to work in other common database system types as needed.
Help to maintain Oracle systems on a Linux operation system environment.
Help to plan, design, and implement new databases and monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing databases, database systems (primarily SQL) and services. Document design of databases as well as monitoring results, troubleshooting completed, and other maintenance completed for unit databases.
Assist in the enforcement of database standards, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and standards and the security of the database environments.
Support and troubleshoot the operation of database systems including patching, event monitoring, incident management, backup and recovery and other forms of remedial and preventative maintenance. Document patches applied to unit databases. Document frequency of backup and recovery of unit databases.
Aid in implementation and testing of database advanced designs.
Help to optimize and tune database performance utilizing advanced monitoring tools, query tuning techniques, database and operating system parameter adjustments, hardware recommendations, and other operational enhancements. Document testing of database performance, including adjustments made and recommendations for enhancements of unit databases.
Assist in defining file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications. Documentation of file organization logic, indexing methods used and security procedures for user applications.
Assist with backup and recovery operations for servers. Document date and time of all backup and recovery operations.
Help to provide entity relational diagrams and documentation of Oracle configuration. Written documentation of relational diagrams is required
Education and Years of Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience
Oracle database administration experience
Linux administration experience
Multiple Information Technology certifications
Knowledge of Government-wide system design, information technology equipment and services
Extensive knowledge of methodology, federal information system policies (e.g. NIST 800.53, FISMA, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), configuration management) and knowledge of the FBI's mission and processes
Knowledge on Graph and Geo database systems
Active TS Clearance (fully adjudicated; no interim)
M-F (excluding Federal Holidays) 8 hours/day between 6AM-6PM
There is no opportunity to telework or work in alternate facilities. No travel is anticipated, however it is possible that infrequent travel may arise in CONUS locations.
