Wagner Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas, is seeking applications for a Large Engine Rebuild Specialist in Aurora, CO.


The Large Engine Rebuild specialist works closely with PSSRs and Service Managers to win large engine rebuilds. The Large Engine Rebuild Specialist is Wagner's expert for 3500 and 3600 rebuilds. This large engine expertise includes quoting rebuilds, optimizing rebuild processes, forecasting rebuild opportunity versus Wagner's shop capacity, parts re-use strategies, emissions options, rebuild tooling, engine dyno parameters, SOS, CAT product updates, CAT merchandising programs, Wagner Exchange options, and the competitive environment.


Maintain database of all relevant 3500 / 3600 rebuild data (customer, shop, price, cost, parts GP%, labor GP%, rebuild times, rework, etc) so Wagner can leverage the data to win more deals and improve our processes.
Maintain database of rebuild opportunities (OLGA) in Wagner's territory and work with PSSRs to quote every opportunity.

Be the internal "go to" person for large engine rebuilding.
Involve TCs as needed to address product problems or technical issues.
Interact with customers as appropriate to facilitate engine rebuilds and sales.
Work with Parts Administration to assure large engine discount programs are applied to customer accounts and that enough inventory is on hand to support rebuild forecasts.
Monitor rebuild work orders to assure Wagner meets promised rebuild time frames and financial commitments.
Work with branches to assure all 3500 and 3600 service letters are completed.
Lead Wagner's investigation into feasibility of creating 3500/3600 "Top End Teams" comprised of 4 or 5 people that would travel to perform top ends around our territory. First priority is to quantify top end opportunity in our territory to determine feasibility of concept.

Quote all 3500 and 3600 engine rebuilds for Wagner. Excluding FMI or other customers where existing processes are working fine.
Work closely with service managers and PSSRs to win more rebuilds.
Work with appropriate management to set annual large engine rebuild forecasts.
Create monthly sales funnel reports (quotes, won, lost)
Track lost sales with sufficient detail to allow Wagner to consider relationship, process, or quoting changes.

Understand all 3500 / 3600 configurations and rebuild options to be viewed as valued consultant to Service, PSSRs, and customers.
Have working knowledge of large engine SOS, dyno reports, CAT reuse guidelines, and failure analysis. Involve TCs as appropriate.
