General Purpose of Position:
The Systems Administrator is one who can maintain, support and expand ISM’s network and IT infrastructure. The ideal personnel will be able to manage our WAN, LAN, SAN and EDI computer platforms, while looking for ways to grow our networks in a cost-effective way to meet future needs. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for developing network maintenance and growth plans, creating annual project budgets, and keeping the executive team up to date on the latest networking technologies that align with the company mission.
Summary of Responsibilities/Duties:
Manage information technology and computer systems.
Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
Responsible for creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis.
Develop innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs.
Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.
Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released.
Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
Preserve assets, information security and control structures.
Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness.
Research other vendors to gain a profitable and competitive advantage.
Associate Degree or Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or related field
5-10 years of proven working experience as an Systems administrator or relevant experience required.
A+, MCSE, CCNA or equivalent certifications preferred but not required.
Skills / Certifications Required:
Well versed in technology with a strong ability to plan, organize, evaluate and redesign IT systems to ensure reliability and performance.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, be a team player and perform difficult tasks well under pressure.
Strong hands-on experience with computer networks, systems/network administration, IT infrastructure and support.
Ability to sit for long periods of time, ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, as well as ability to climb ladders/crouch in tight places for networking maintenance.
Ability to work independently.
A+, MCSE, CCNA, or equivalent certifications preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008 R2 and higher, Active directory,
Strong knowledge of Cisco router and switching experience.
Strong knowledge of Cisco ASA.
Strong knowledge of PBX phones systems either on premise or cloud based.
Strong knowledge of Office 365, MS Hyper V.
Remote management and software deployment.
Web hosting and domain registrars.

Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures, information security and control structures.
Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, as well as initiating corrective action.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by; reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, as well as contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
