Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc. is a full service, award winning Architectural and Engineering firm with offices in Livingston, NJ. At this time, our firm has an important opening in our Architectural Department for an experienced project manager. We will accept resumes from licensed architects with the required experience.

You will report to a firm principal and The Director of Architectural Services. Compensation will be in line with experience and credentials. Most of our projects are within the tri-state area and as such, travel is very limited.

Project Management Level Candidates should have experience with steel, concrete and timber construction. You should have experience with integrating your documents with engineering disciplines. You should understand the applicable building codes and have knowledge of the permitting process for municipal, county and state in NJ. Additional knowledge of NY, NYC and PA regulations are a major plus. Projects range in size and scope. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your experience and join a progressive firm for an excellent all-around professional experience. More specifically, you should have experience with the following aspects of managing a project.

  • Understand the project scope once it is explained to you by the firm principal and client.
  • Commercial, Multi-Family, Educational Experience a must
  • Manage staff and be able to integrate all of the necessary technical disciplines, i.e. MEP, Structural and Civil Engineering groups
  • Create a master project schedule and monitor the activity of all disciplines on a daily basis to make certain that deadlines are maintained. Monitor support staff to make sure they are properly briefed as required.
  • You should have experience with managing Field surveys in existing buildings and wire due diligence reports based upon our template and the conditions found.
  • Set up and oversee the preparation of necessary project drawings.
  • Keep client up-to-date and Interact as necessary.
  • The successful candidate should be able to handle multitude project types including new buildings, interiors and building restoration including roof upgrades.
  • Applicants must have thorough experience with AutoCAD and Revit software.

Additional requirements include:

  • BA from an accredited architectural school.
  • 3-5 years of similar experience
  • Architectural registration, it should be from the State of New Jersey or a reciprocal state.
  • Good written and oral communication skills for report writing, letters, communicating with government agencies, other consultants and clients.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software, (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc)
  • Ability to work well independently and with others, delegate, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Leadership skills in taking responsible charge of multiple projects as you grow within our firm
  • Excellent organization skills
