The Engineering team has an opening for a Structural Engineer.
Location: Chicago, IL
Position Summary
As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for working with a team of engineers and architects of all levels to deliver high quality projects to our valued clients. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design. You will be responsible for working in a dynamic and multidisciplinary design team to produce structural engineering designs for educational, commercial, and municipal buildings of all sizes and complexities. These projects are located around the US and world.
This position offers potential for rapid growth as we expand the structural engineering team in our downtown Chicago office. With the support of our National Structural Engineering group, the right candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in all stages of projects from concept to construction.
The successful candidate will:
Perform structural analysis and detailing for a wide variety of buildings and materials in accordance with building codes.
Collaborate with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process.
Create and coordinate documents using Autodesk Revit.
Review shop drawings and structural submittals.
Conduct site visits when needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
EIT registration and ability to become licensed.
Minimum (3) years of full-time experience in building design.
Working knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP2000, RISA Suite).
Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity, and attention to detail.
Experience preparing construction documents using a BIM (e.g. Autodesk Revit Structure) workflow.
Basic understanding of commercial building materials, systems, and assemblies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Structural Engineering.
SE Licensure in Illinois or ability to become licensed within 6 months.
An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
Experience and interest in Zero Carbon building design and SE 2050 Challenge.
