Microsoft Teams is improving workplace collaboration and communication by helping organizations move from an array of disparate apps to a single, secure hub that brings together what teams need, including chat, meetings, calling, and business process integration, all with built in Office apps and services. We’re looking for a high energy product marketing leader to drive world-class customer evidence and customer engagement programs with engineering. In this role, you’ll work build a pipeline of customer evidence opportunities, nurturing early stage leads with engineering and producing customer references for PR and marketing use as they mature. You will create customer case studies and match relevant customers with the right opportunities in outbound content and events as well as customer-to-customer references and analyst reviews. And finally, you’ll listen for feedback on product features and the overall experience so we can optimize the product.
You’ll also have an opportunity to drive customer engagements through the Executive Briefing Center (EBC). Here you’ll ensure we are telling a consistent and compelling story for Teams by keeping our content and presenters up-to-date and incorporating customer feedback into the process. You’ll also leverage these EBCs to showcase your customer stories as well as solicit new leads.
This role requires strategic thinking, curiosity, and obsession for the customer experience. Strong relationship management skills are vital as this role will work directly with our valued customers.
Work with Teams PMMs and PR to determine the type of customer evidence stories needed, whether by workload, size, geography, industry, or brand
Partner with engineering and the field to identify strategic customers for marketing opportunities and other Microsoft 365 evidence teams to recruit customers for Teams-specific opportunities
Establish rhythm for ongoing customer engagement, tapping into engineering programs to mature customer relationships and drive usage as a pipeline for evidence
Produce customer case studies, quotes, blogs, event participation, and other publicly referenceable evidence that showcase Teams positively impacting their business
Solicit customer participation in customer-to-customer references, analyst reviews, and other non-publicly referenceable evidence
Work with PR to identify and screen customers for press opportunities
Coach customer spokespeople on Teams messaging for events, content, and press engagement
Partner with the EBC to ensure we have high quality customer engagements on Teams
5+ years in product marketing or comparable experience
A passion for technology and the ability to translate technology into compelling stories
Self-awareness, the ability to be self-critical and a strong desire to learn/ grow
Proven ability to drive results with and influence a diverse group of stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion
Power user level proficiency in Microsoft Teams and the core Office 365 apps and services
Excellent communication and presentation skills
