SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
Responsible for implementing and maintaining various administrative initiatives or processes. Produce various financial or operational reports, provide analyses of business and financial performance, evaluate operational processes, and liaise with outside counsel on certain legal matters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Financial and Administrative Analyst will work closely with the CFO, Manager of Finance, Senior Financial Analyst, Controller, and other senior staff at the Museum on a wide range of issues. Essential functions are listed below.

OPERATIONAL
Serve as THF corporate credit card administrator, and Concur report processing resource. Assist new cardholders with on-boarding, and assist existing cardholders as needed.
Monitor insurance claims and work with lawyer on handling open cases. Work with security and involved unit to properly document cases. Identify opportunities for improvement in order to eliminate future claims/incidents.
Assist with the implementation of new or upgraded administrative workflow applications
Proactively engage units for their business, financial, and operational analytic needs.
Utilize data from various operational business systems (e.g. Delphi, Trust Commerce, Siriusware, Raisers’ Edge) to answer key strategic and operational questions.
FINANCIAL
Prepare various financial and operational reports to communicate key performance indicators across the organization. This will entail using data from multiple sources, and will require data validation, interpretation, and analysis. Maintain and ensure their accuracy and relevance.
Participate in monthly financial statement analysis process. Analyze selected activity from monthly operating statements for various units throughout the Museum. Communicate with departments to understand variances and issues.
Assist with data collection, data entry, and validation for various systems, projects, and reports. Ensure that data in Finance Office presentations aligns with source documents.
Prepare business analyses of existing and prospective programs and operations, and present them to units in actionable and understandable form.
Undertake other operational or financial analyses, duties, and projects as requested.
Act as a team player within the Finance Office, and with other teams across the organization as appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree in Accounting/Finance preferred (equivalent experience will be considered). Strong interpersonal and analytic skills. Must be able to work within a relatively unstructured team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with non-financial people. Two years’ analytic experience preferred, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.

The Finance Office is an evolving unit. Significant comfort with ambiguity and change is critical.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Strong personal computer skills (Excel required), strong database skills, thorough understanding of accounting, sound business judgment, and critical thinking.
