An entrepreneurial and highly regarded NYC, mid-size law firm seeks a Senior Marketing & Business Development Specialist (“SMBDS”) to join its marketing team.
Under the direction of the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer (CMBDO), the SMBDS will plan and execute multifaceted initiatives to grow the firm’s client base and raise the profile of the firm, its practices, and its attorneys. The SMBDS works on a wide range of projects, including events and conferences, pitches and proposals, print and online collateral, industry and prospective client research, and more.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with the CMBDO and partners to develop and implement business development plans, strategies, and programs for practices and individual attorneys.
Support the development and maintenance of collateral and pitch materials:
- Draft, edit, and proofread practice and industry descriptions, attorney profiles, and similar materials.
- Maintain a library of marketing collateral and an organizational system for proposals and pitches.
- Maintain the accuracy of the firm’s experience in the CRM, including clients and experience descriptions.
· Assist in the preparation, production, submission, and tracking of proposals and new business pitches. Includes writing, proofreading, and editing tailored content for specific opportunities.
· Plan and manage all aspects of firm-hosted seminars and networking events (internal and external), webinars, sponsorships, conferences, CLEs, speaking engagements, and other events.
Help maintain the web content:
Coordinate publishing of case studies, events, alerts, advisories, and other client-focused communications.
- Collaborate with attorneys and the communications manager to prepare industry surveys and award nominations, such as Chambers and Best Law Firms.
- Assist with the integration of new attorneys.
- Collaborate with the communications manager on social media for practices and events.
- Assist with other marketing and business development activities as needed, including Client Teams’ activities and other firm-wide initiatives.
- Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5-7 years of marketing or business development experience, including 3+ years in a law firm.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM and other MarTech platforms.
- The ability to quickly get up to speed and master new applications and software is critical. Basic design skills and WordPress experience a plus.

The firm is currently maintaining a hybrid schedule structured as Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office with the option to be remote Mondays and Fridays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
