The Operations supervisor is responsible for daily scheduling of Operations drivers, ensuring the best customer care possible is provided and ensuring that routes are completed. Supervisory duties include efficient scheduling of routes, daily supervision of drivers, monitoring route completion, stepping in to run full or partial routes when needed, and assisting the data management team with identifying and making necessary routing changes.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Reports to work at designated time in company uniform and with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Supervise drivers, including scheduling, training and performing disciplinary actions.
Responsible for daily scheduling and monitoring of Operations drivers to ensure 100% route coverage.
Run routes when understaffed.
Responsible for ensuring the best customer care is provided.
Be available for work on weekends and holidays, as advised.
High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of 5 years’ related medium- or heavy-truck and route management experience;
Demonstrated knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and local and state traffic laws;
Ability to effectively and fluently communicate in English in both written and verbal form;
Ability to carry out instructions;
Must demonstrate leadership and supervisory skills;
Must demonstrate coordination and planning skills;
Advanced operational skills;
Strong logistical aptitude;
Ability to attain proficiency with the use of computer software used by TDS – i.e. iPak;
Working knowledge of systems involved in solid waste management and disposal;
Ability to use common office equipment – i.e. phones, radio systems;
Proficiency with mapping programs; and
Basic math skills.
Valid Class B Texas Commercial Driver’s License
Record of safe driving for the last 5 years as shown on current MVR, with no serious accidents or traffic violations
