THE LEGAL ASSISTANT WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Providing administrative and litigation support to the attorney by organizing all files, calendaring events and deadlines, answering telephone calls and aiding the clients, maintaining the work space and filing room

Paralegal-type duties, including legal research (particularly WestLaw), drafting simple pleadings, filing documents with the court (State), serving papers on other counsel, scanning, organizing electronic and paper files.

Maintaining and updating annual minutes for numerous corporate clients.

Administering and managing invoices, contracts, bills and other accounts receivable and accounts payable

Sending and receiving mail

Restocking office supplies

QUALIFICATIONS: 5 YEARS EXPERIENCE.

Proficiency with MS Applications, Adobe Acrobat Professional (particularly bates stamping), Outlook, Word, and Excel, Sage Timeslips.

Must be willing to learn how to work with the law firms billing software.

Professional presence, good judgment and the ability to anticipate needs.

Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and care.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize, organize and establish administrative procedures and work under pressure.

Must have good interpersonal skills.

Highly organized, detail oriented and a problem solver.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
