The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a Sr Nutrition Scientist with the ability to support global cross-functional business teams on strategic nutrition and wellbeing opportunities for business development through delivery of nutrition science insights and translation. This candidate will also collaborate with the Global Head on nutrition communications, external affairs and interpretation of regulations and guidance of relevance to nutrition.
This candidate should have a proven record of influencing others, demonstrating strategic initiative, and driving for results in a variety of settings. Proven communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role, which operates in a cross-functional environment. The candidate must also have a strong nutrition background, including the interpretation, evaluation and translation of nutrition science. This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently and demonstrate a high degree of autonomy. Exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must. Prior food industry and regulatory experience is a plus.
Translate current dietary guidance and nutrition science into evidence-based product and claim opportunities across the Kraft Heinz product portfolio through strong collaboration with business teams, regulatory affairs, and food law.
Help assess the business implications of emerging science, external issues, food regulations and public nutrition/health policy through external relationships with academic researchers, science/health organizations and industry/trade groups.
Help drive internal nutrition and wellbeing initiatives through regularly informing and guiding business partners, and assessing progress across the product portfolio.
Support accurate nutrition information, communication and positioning of products by partnering with the global Kraft Heinz culinary and business teams.
Support claim review and substantiation through proven ability to objectively review the scientific literature and provide subsequent input to business and R&D teams.
PhD (3-5 years of experience) preferred; registered dietitian a plus.
Prior experience in a related role with a global/US food manufacturer a plus, but not required.
Nutrition science education and experience
Familiarity with US/CAN and Global food regulations is a plus
Track record of working with cross functional teams such as R&D, CIS, Corporate Affairs and Food Law.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent problem solving, influencing, organization and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize work.
Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Willing to travel 10-15% for external meetings or conferences as indicated
