Postion Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Tax Director with all aspects of the tax provision. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing the preparation of the federal income tax return.

Tax Provision - 70%

Manage quarterly and annual income tax provision, including:
Prepare/review quarterly and year end reporting packages
Review of federal FIN48 analysis
Review of book-tax difference calculations, both permanent and deferred
Tie-out of deferred tax asset/liability balances
Review and record tax related journal entries, including impact of employee stock plans
Manage testing of internal control procedures
Federal Tax Compliance - 20%

Manage federal compliance process
Review book-tax difference calculations
Complete Federal pro-forma returns in OneSource Income tax software
Review federal consolidated tax return, including attachments and supporting schedules
Review quarterly Federal estimated tax payment
Other - 10%

Manage/review other tax projects as assigned
Assist with state provision/compliance as needed
Manage tax team member(s), including performance management, work delegation, as well as providing coaching and development to the individual(s)

Bachelor's Degree - Accounting or related field

5 years of tax experience at a Big 4 or equivalent corporate experience, including experience in tax provision (ASC 740) and tax compliance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong tax provision/tax accounting (ASC 740) experience.
Prefer CPA Certification
Comprehensive understanding of tax provision journal entries.
Ability to work independently on projects, including project planning and management.
Ability to think ahead, effectively prioritize, and multi-task while working under tight deadlines.
Experience managing a small team.
Experience with Federal and state compliance.
Experience with Thomson OneSource Income tax software, including OneSource State Apportionment.
Strong computer skills with MS office software, especially Microsoft Excel, and tax research software (BNA)
Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
Experience with financial institutions
PeopleSoft (or another general ledger accounting system) experience.
