The Field & Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting field research in salt-marshes along the East Coast of the United States and processing soil and water samples in the laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for leading field research activities with undergraduate students. This is a temporary, 2-month, grant-funded position starting 6/1/16 and will be primarily based at Villanova University, but will require travel and extended stays at field stations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducting field research in wetland systems, including sometimes physically demanding conditions that require carrying equipment in wetlands, and working in hot and cold temperatures in muddy and buggy conditions. This position will also require occasional extended work hours to meet research objectives, and the operation of a small motorboat.

Minimum Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. in Environmental Science or related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic laboratory research skills (pipetting, weighing, etc).
Operation and safe use of small outboard motor boat.
