Job Description
Amazon Worldwide Operations’ (WWOps) Learning and Talent Management (LTM) Team guides the talent strategy and invents solutions that improve mean levels of performance for the largest workforce within Amazon, also one of the fastest growing companies in the world. LTM develops science based processes and tools; identifies and develops high-potential talent to fill future organizational needs; onboards new employees both at scale and through personalized learning plans for executives; and provides lifecycle leadership and functional learning solutions. WWOps is comprised of hundreds of thousands of Amazon employees across multiple global order fulfillment, transportation, corporate, and customer service organizations.

LTM is seeking to hire an Organizational Psychologist to consult on, research, and manage assessment development projects across many different roles (technical and non-technical), conduct validation studies, job analyses, interviews, and organizational research studies. This person will work with cross-functional teams to design and experiment with new hiring and talent management solutions that predict success within highly complex roles across Amazon years into the future with measureable impact. This role is equal parts researcher, consultant, and assessment/simulation developer.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the development of innovative strategies (assessments, performance based simulations, etc.) in all phases of content development, validation design, and implementation
  • Design research methodologies to identify and define characteristics of high performance
  • Influence executive project sponsors, business leaders, and development teams across the company
  • Partner with internal and external technology teams for solution execution
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Ensure cleanliness and management large complex data sets
  • Perform statistical/quantitative analyses
Basic Qualifications
  • High adaptability with a passion for continual learning within a fast paced environment
  • Master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or related field
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in applied selection practices, job analysis, assessment development, and validation
  • Foundational skills in conducting experimental research studies and data analysis
  • Proficiency in at least one statistics program (SPSS, R, SAS, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or related field
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in applied selection practices, job analysis, assessment development, and validation
  • Experience working with cross-functional technical teams
  • Proven skills in experimental research design
  • Strong quantitative analytical abilities
