SUMMARY: The Peri-operative Registered Nurse is responsible for directing the plan of care for the patient from admission through discharge. The registered nurse is cross trained to perform all aspects of surgical services including: pre-operative preparation, circulation in OR, recovery and discharge. The registered nurse is responsible for the direction and supervision of other assigned personnel (ie., Licensed Practical Nurse, OR Technicians, orderlies)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure to practice in New Jersey.
Baccalaureate Degree preferred.
A minimum of three years of peri-operative or operating room nursing experience.
BCLS required, ACLS certification required or within 3 months of hire.
Completion of a critical care course including basic arrhythmia interpretation preferred. Specialty certification preferred.
Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification from a nationally recognized central supply service certification program required upon hire or within 2 years of hire (required fro OR, RN)
