The Assistant Manager is a Chanel brand ambassador who keeps brand image and standards in mind as a constant priority. S/he supports the team in providing the Ultimate Luxury Experience for all clients and works with senior managers to ensure team goals and actions are aligned with this standard. The Assistant Manager also supports the Boutique Director in maximizing boutique sales volume and profitability while assisting with team development and compliance with operating standards and procedures.
Develop and lead team to achieve company standards across all categories. Assume oversight for boutique in absence of senior managers. Lead by example on the selling floor, proactively coaching and inspiring the team.
Foster a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect and teamwork and is free of discrimination and harassment.
Understand and enforce clear goals & expectations and hold consistent coaching sessions with associates to review performance and provide timely feedback. Contribute to annual review process for direct reports.
Partner with senior managers to proactively address and resolve employee issues; partner with HR as needed.
Assist with training on company processes, policies and procedures.
Display a strong commitment to self-development and growth.
Lead by example in the demonstration of integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote the company culture, values, and mission.
Develop skills to react to business trends and traffic patterns by maintaining open communication with boutique team.
Image & Client Service:
Maintain floor coverage to support team in providing a superior Chanel Experience for clients. Set an example through client interactions and ensure a welcoming environment exists on the floor.
Enforce personal image guidelines amongst team in a reasonable, constructive and respectful manner.
Partner with Director on client development by designing & supporting strategic initiatives.
Set standard for brand image by partnering with Visual Team on visual needs, and support initiatives by ensuring space is kept in line with visual direction on a daily basis.
Address and successfully resolve client situations according to company philosophy and standards.
Work with sales team to develop sales technique and clienteling skills.
Aspire to represent the brand in the community through attendance of events to build boutique awareness.
Work in conjunction with management team to oversee daily store operations.
Maintain thorough understanding of all policies, procedures and processes. Ensure team adherence and constantly reinforce the philosophy behind these principles.
Partner with management team to support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, and L/P audits.
Manage timekeeping, payroll, and execute the boutique schedule with ultimate approval of Director.
Ensure strong partnership with corporate partners to ensure alignment & timely two-way communication.
Develop business goals for assigned product categories and translate into action plan. Communicate regularly with Boutique Director and routinely report on achievement of goals.
Run business with agility, changing direction & continuously improving based on key indicators focusing on lessons learned and opportunities to diversify the approach.
Assist Management Team in preparing and executing special event, and community initiatives.
Generate innovative ideas to help build the business through experimentation and test and learns.
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in management, hospitality or fashion-related field a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of prior retail management experience a must. Must have experience with operations, merchandising, sales and stock activities.
