Technical Manager ITO Service Delivery
Perspecta has an immediate need for aTechnicalManager ITO Service Deliveryin Raleigh, NC.
Manage area(s), customer(s), or team(s) of company employees with well-defined, limited scope, including directing daily work activities/priorities, people recruitment and development, cost management and direction-setting within the area of responsibility.
Coach and mentor employee direct reports. May coach and mentor non-direct reports as needed. Manage Focal Point Review (FPR) process for company employees. Manage team and individual performance.
Establish and manage relationships with customer subject matter experts and appropriate customer management, with the objective of maintaining and building the business.
Monitor and ensure organizational goals and contractual commitments are met (e.g. budget/cost, service availability, responses, reports).
Resolve/monitor customer escalations as appropriate.
Adept with wireless technologies, such as Wi-Fi, WiMAX, and WAP. Must have a thorough knowledge of 802.11n and 802.11a. Support a Cisco centric WAN, LAN and WLAN environment. This includes routers, firewalls, security, WLAN.
Possess an in-depth understanding of DNS/DHCP/IP Address Management.
Extensive knowledge required, of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP).
Utilize enterprise monitoring tools such as Network Automation, Solar Winds, Splunk and Wireshark.
Optimize network performance by supervising performance, addressing network problems and breakdowns, and partnering with network engineers to optimize the network.
Function as a point of escalation for operational entities regarding regular or complex issues. Work on daily service tickets while engaged on enterprise wireless deployments. Own and fulfill small to large strategic or tactical wireless projects
Strong experience with Cisco Lightweight Access Points and with both centralized and local Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers.
Strong understanding of WLAN technologies, network management, 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards.
Strong understanding of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, EAP-TLS, 802.1x, AAA) and experience with RADIUS solutions (preferred: NPS and/or ISE).
Experience implementing high density Wi-Fi solutions.
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with analysis tools such as Ekahau, Air Magnet, Wireshark, etc.
Administrator-level skillset with configuration within the enterprise wireless management system
Create design documentation and implementation plans.
Establish routine performance and trouble reporting for team review.
Design and manage user policy, access controls and QoS within the wireless environment.
Engage with manufacturer technical support centers to quickly resolve issues as they arise as necessary.
Ability to work onsite at client facility in Raleigh, NC.
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or information technology. A master's degree is a plus. Otherwise, applicant must have one or more of the following industry certifications: CCIE, CCNP, CWNA, CWSP.
8 years of demonstrated experience in a Cisco environment with 4 years in a senior role placing emphasis on Wi-Fi installations, implementations, troubleshooting and monitoring with a focused tenure on wireless networks in a multisite or multinational corporation.
Combined experience should include some portion/combination of hands-on experience with network engineering, multiple successful implementations of Cisco routers and switches, VPN connections, juniper firewalls, subnetting, DNS, encryption technologies and standards, VPNs, VLANs, VoIP and other network routing methods.
Hands-on experience includes supporting repeatable, reliable and scalable network architectures with fault tolerance, performance tuning, monitoring systems, statistics/metrics collection and disaster recovery. mitigating crosstalk and latency.
Motivated self-starter who approaches technical problems with creative solutions.
Ability to multitask, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, good follow-up and judgment.
Expert level knowledge of transport protocols, routing protocols, and security/authorization encryption protocols at all layers of the OSI model with emphasis on TCP/IP are essential.
Must have strong knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications, to include IP subnetting and complex routing techniques on LAN/WAN networks, Security Routing & Switching architecture, design of large-scale networks.
Strong knowledge of networking features and protocols and be fluent with: HTTP, HTTPS, Multicast, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, IPsec, RADIUS/TACACS , SNMP, current WAN/MAN telecommunications technologies and Web caching services (proxy server) and 802.1x.
Solid understanding of network monitoring protocols SNMP, CDP, LLDP, syslog and NetFlow.
Experience with wireless technologies, frequency allocation, and managed access points.
Strong understanding of authentication/authorization protocols. Cisco ISE, Firepower, Cisco Aironet knowledge is necessary.
Knowledge of performance analysis of log analyzer requests, secure network architectures and Python programming.
Extensive design, implementation and operational experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, wireless access points, and management systems.
Extraordinary experience with enterprise networking, monitoring, troubleshooting, and management tools.
Ability to clearly communicate both business and technical terms and information/ requirements/ instructions to a wide variety of audiences (face-to-face, teleconference, phone and email).
Ability to write technical/functionality specification documentation.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Preference will go to those that have:
7 years of Enterprises WAN/LAN/WLAN experience.
5 years of Cisco devices configuration experience.
