POSITION PURPOSE:
The Manager, Information Technology provides leadership to the Information Technology (IT) group and is primarily responsible for analyzing and directing IT related activities of the organization with supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned to the IT department. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer & network services for users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership and project coordination.

The Manager, Information Technology, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team, is responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that have a long-term impact on the organization and achieve the mission, vision and goals of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning (25%)

Leads IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future IT systems across the organization
Develops and maintains an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business
Establishes IT departmental goals, objectives and operating procedures and updates as needed
Identifies opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing and in-house development
Assesses and communicates risks associated with IT investments
Ensures that security is established for all systems, networks, applications and processes, and that this is monitored, updated and that the organization is regularly trained on the latest threats.
Develops, tracks and controls the information technology annual operating and capital budgets
Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives
Captures, monitors and analyzes computer usage data, recommends and implement policies, software and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost-efficient manner
Technology Acquisition & Deployment (25%)

Coordinates and facilitates consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations
Approves, prioritizes and controls projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development and installation of major information systems
Reviews hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursues master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale
Monitors new developments in Enterprise Infrastructure technology and changes in business needs and develops strategic architecture plans in collaboration with the leadership team
Defines and communicates corporate plans, policies and standards for the organization for acquiring, implementing, and operating IT systems
Assumes the leadership role in developing and maintaining a systems disaster recovery plan.
Manages relationships with 3rd party support vendors, including negotiating & managing contracts
Operational Management (20%)

Ensures 24/7 availability and performance of critical production system infrastructure including servers, storage, network environments, firewalls, monitoring, and backup/restoration services.
Ensures continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level with employees and monitoring of IT systems performance
Ensures IT system operation adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
Manages the IT Infrastructure group in the design, development and implementation of infrastructure technology solutions
Leads the Salesforce.com CRM team, ensuring that the Salesforce.com team’s goals align with the company goals, and works closely with the Salesforce.com team to ensure that their projects are successful.
Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies and prices; advises, counsels and educates executives and management on their competitive or financial implications
Captures, monitors and analyzes computer usage data, recommends and implements policies, software and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost-efficient manner
Performs support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, mobile device, office phone, printer and/or network issues if members of the IT Support team are unavailable; will monitor the support e-mail inbox, answer the IT support line, monitor support voicemail, instant messaging and walk up traffic if members of the IT Support team are unavailable.
Responsible for facilitation of all SAP support tickets, weekly meetings with SAP support teams to discuss open tickets, monthly meetings with SAP Basis team to discuss the SAP datacenter, controlling hours for SAP support, leading SAP training & informational sessions.
Performs new user orientations, quarterly IT refresher training sessions and leading user training sessions for most
IT projects
Participates in 24-hour IT support rotation, addressing urgent and after-hours issues
Talent Management (15%)

Capital Effectiveness (10%)

Responsible for the annual department budget
Ensures budgeting processes are followed and monitors expenses to ensure programs stay within budget
Identifies opportunities to improve productivity and lower costs
Regularly reviews technology solutions, applications, vendors, and providers to ensure they are cost-effective, up to date and appropriate.
Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership (5%)

Operates safely within NatureWorks policies, procedures and governmental regulations and fully participates in and champions NatureWorks Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Programs
Ensures the EH&S Programs are being followed and provides a safe working environment to our employees and customers
Accountable for building a strong safety culture and actively pursues it daily; identifies unsafe behaviors and conditions and intervenes to mitigate incidents

QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field
5-10 years of corporate IT support experience
Strong understanding of Microsoft operating systems (Client and Server), Microsoft Office 365 Solutions, Microsoft Exchange, server hardware, server environments, network components (specifically switches, routers, wireless access points and firewalls), Active Directory, network security, server backups, anti-virus/malware, mobile devices (Android, iPhone), Microsoft applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Skype for Business, OneDrive, OneNote), leading a helpdesk environment and working as a member of an IT support team

Education and Experience Preferred:
Advanced degree in Management of Information Systems, Computer Science or related field
10+ years of corporate IT support experience
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Client and Server), Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, server hardware, server environments, network components (specifically Cisco switches, routers, Ruckus wireless access points and WatchGuard firewalls), Active Directory, network security, SharePoint 365, CommVault backups, experienced with Pi and/or D3 manufacturing systems, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Skype for Business, OneDrive, OneNote, Project, Visio), project management, leading a global helpdesk environment and working as a member of an IT support team

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position works in an office environment
Regular business hours; some after-hours work will be required on evenings and weekends supporting global team members
Occasional travel may be required
Requires use of office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones and more.
Required sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time
Position may be physically demanding, requiring the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, stoop and crawl
Ability to occasionally lift and haul up to 50 pounds; will follow Company safety and ergonomic guideless to avoid injury
Bachelors or better in Computer Science or related field.
5 years: Corporate IT support
