This is an independent contract position for a tour guide(s) for the Spirits of Port Isabel Tour (www.spiritsofportisabel.com). Each walking tour takes place in the evening and lasts a little over 1 hour. Tour guides will use handheld projectors to display ghostly characters that the tour guide will talk to as they share their impact in the Port Isabel area.
Tour guides will also use a voice amplifier waist microphone and need to be able to navigate connections to portable bluetooth speakers. You will be expected to learn scripts regardling the ghost walk and history. This position is meant to be fun so we want the tour guide to be in character.. Period or modest steampunk costume or branded shirts will be used, but the tour is more about informing than being scared as children will sometimes attend. It is critical that you are a good communicator and that you show up on time. The show cannot go on without you.
