Provides effective and professional Human Resources services to the organization as a Human Resources Business Partner, responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with the HR Manager and other HR team members in supporting the Geismar site.

This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: strategic workforce planning, recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy development and implementation, employee relations, employment law compliance, compensation, benefits administration, training and development, performance management, and succession planning.

Position Responsibilities
Supports recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and interns.
Assists with the pre-employment, orientation and onboarding process.
Reviews job descriptions and updates as needed, posts positions and advertisements. Coordinates with 3rd party staffing agencies regarding candidates.
Participates on interview panels and initiates the assessment process. Leads the recruitment process for positions as assigned including tracking candidates and communicating with candidates throughout the process.
Keep up-to-date with current USA Human Resources legislation, practices and trends.
Effective communication and dialogue regarding HR matters with the organization is developed through regular contact with employees and managers.
Support to Manager, Human Resources and the HR Supervisor in implementation of HR initiatives is provided.
Provide advice and guidance to employees, regarding company HR policies and procedures, as appropriate.
Maintain home country contact with expatriates and provides support to Global Mobility on the global assignment process.
Assists with the coordination of Employee onboarding and termination processes.
In conjunction with the Occupational Health Nurse, ensure the relationship with the third party administrators for work related accident cover is managed.
Ensure HR aspects of the fitness to work program, regarding pre-employment and medical physicals is coordinated. Liaison with the Occupational Health Nurse regarding position changes.
Supports employees with the leave of absence process and FMLA.
With the HR team, provide support, advice, and guidance on all employee benefit plans including the 401(k) plan, Short Term Incentive, and Long term Incentive Programs; and where applicable ensure effective and timely program communications and reporting submissions.
Where required provide support and assistance with Learning & Development initiatives, HR training, compensation review/planning, compliance reporting, and other specialized HR initiatives.
HR related global projects are undertaken as required.
Accurate employee information is provided through maintenance of HRIS data, extracting reports for management, acting as "expert user" and providing support and training for other users.
Employee records are accurately maintained; on file, in the HRIS system and within the internal HR systems
Networks with other Methanex sites to the mutual benefit of all sites.
Responsible for ensuring awareness of all controlled documents relating to this position as per Document Awareness Report from Document Management Database.
Contribute to the ‘operational excellence’ for Methanex USA Services LLC as an effective member of the Human Resources department.
Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care® ethic.
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred, OR equivalent related work experience/combined education.
HR Generalist with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Recruiting, Employee Relations, Learning and Development/Competency frameworks, Performance Management, Talent Management, Compensation, Benefits, AA/EEO compliance
Strong drive for results
Knowledge of current HR and employment law, relevant legislation and regulations
Organization, prioritizing, multi-tasking, discretion and business ethics
