This position is a senior level clinical role (reporting to the VP clinical strategy and Operations) that provides leadership in executing on the global clinical strategy that directly relates to business growth, process improvement, Quality assurance and customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:
Create and maintain positive relationships with key providers in the region(United States), intervening on UHCG and the members behalf when there is a conflict in the treatment plan
Solutioning of complex client issues related to our clinical and operational service delivery model, and work with cross functional teams to bring solutions and changes to the clinical and operational service delivery model in-line with client expectations
Review medical treatment plans and service requests from physicians and provide peer to peer reviews with physicians when treatment or quality does not met evidence based medicine standards
Act as a clinical operations subject matter expert to network and client management, product and clinical operations in the region.
Work to improve quality and promote evidence-based medicine

Provide information on quality and efficiency to doctors, patients and customers to inform care choices and drive improvement

Support initiatives that enhance quality throughout our international network, support network management and clinical quality site assessment’s as needed

Ensure the right service is provided at the right time for each member

Ability to quickly asses and consult with international clients and their respective health care delivery systems and identify relevant UHCG products and services to potentially meet those needs
Be available to support emergency assistance needs of members in the region
Complete Clinical Site Surveys of select hospitals and physician practices to ensure quality and current healthcare intelligence
Represent UHCG products and services in a comprehensive and integrated value story both internally and externally
Communicate the value proposition of our clinical service delivery model to local clients, members and physicians in the region

Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree
Active, unrestricted United States physician state license
5+ years of clinical practice experience
Board Certification
Strong understanding of and concurrence with evidence-based medicine (EBM) utilization management and managed care principles
25 % travel (national and international)

Preferred Qualifications:
Board Certification in emergency medicine, anesthesiology, intensive care or aviation medicine
3+ years of international assistance experience as a physician
Hands-on utilization and/or quality management experience
Project management or active project participation experience
Substantial experience in using electronic clinical systems
Experience in International travel medicine/global health
Proven track record of establishing and retaining professional relationships with clinical peers
Able to negotiate successfully with clients and peers, finding mutually agreeable solutions
