The Program Compliance Specialist is responsible for the compliance and monitoring of all phases for the Disaster Response program. The incumbent provides support to Program Manager and supervisor to ensure that the program is consistent with the program’s policy and procedures and that all activities meet Federal, State, local, and county regulations. This position requires knowledge of complex regulatory and programmatic procedures concerning related Disaster Recovery program. This position will travel within an assigned geographic area.
This is a grant-funded position for a specified period per the grant and/or funding.
Responsible for compliance of the program
Perform general program operations and the individual project life-cycle
Demonstrat understanding of ethics, regulations, and laws associated to the program
Work effectively with Project Manager, Case Managers, and clients
Apply knowledge of program rules as well as the ability to enforce them
Stay informed and current of any pertinent changes to the regulations
Ensure that contracts as well as policies and procedures adhere to the program’s regulations and requirements
Study program records, fiscal system, and organizational structure of the program
Evaluate potential risks and make necessary recommendations
Analyze trends affecting program performance and make necessary recommendations
Travel as assigned to impacted areas
Specific duties will vary from program
Other duties and special projects as assigned
Work in partnership and in a collaboration with Program’s Subject Matter Experts, Financial Manager, Project Manager and Case Management team to ensure programs are administered as required
Develop and maintain positive and strong working relationships with Agency management and program teams to meet the needs of the program goals and objectives to ensure the program is operating in an effective and efficient manner
Work as a team player and exhibit professional behavior as well as a positive attitude with both internal and external clients that so as to reflect positively on the company
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or closely related field; experience may be considered in lieu of education
2-year compliance or program management experience
4-year case management supervisory or management experience.
Relevant experience in law, ethics, organizational business, finance, and statistical analysis.
Valid Driver License; current auto insurance, and ability to travel within area impacted areas.
Knowledge of psychological theory, methods, and ethics.
Strong analytical as well as detail orientation
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong monitoring, auditing, and reporting skills
Ability to establish rapport, trust, and ethical boundaries with service population.
Strong writing skills with the ability to properly and accurately document and maintain case files.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimum supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to apply compassion and empathy, while dealing with stressful and difficult situations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as experience using web-based data collection systems and other databases
Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or closely related field.
5 years’ experience providing case management services to survivors of disaster or other highly impacted service populations.
Experience working with web-based social services or client centric database.
