Structural Engineer-in-training (E.I.T)

Wallace Engineering is looking for a full time structural engineer-in-training (E.I.T.) for its Kansas City office. Candidate will perform specific and/or limited portions of broader assignments for licensed engineers. Candidate will receive close supervision on new aspects of assignments. Candidate is expected to contribute to earning the confidence of our clients through elegant, practical and timely solutions.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

Must have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
Have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Prepare engineering drawings and calculations, analysis and specifications
Perform construction administration tasks (submittal reviews, RFI’s, code review responses, etc.)
Committed to earning professional engineering license
Demonstrate continued and progressive technical development
Conduct construction observation under direction of supervisor(s)
Willingness to ask questions and constructively discuss issues
Skill Sets

Actively developing technical knowledge of basic engineering procedures, materials and systems
Actively developing communication skills
Actively developing project management and client interaction skills
Experience or knowledge of Revit
