What You'll Do
The ASIC Director will lead a chip development efforts from the very early stages of product definition (with marketing, software and system peers) and all the way thru the mass production of the chip in targeted Cisco systems. Manage a team of logic design and verification engineers, drive hiring activities and mentor junior engineers. In addition you will plan, track and facilitate execution of ASIC projects, provide technical guidance to logic design and verification leads and engineers, ensure timely completion of projects and achieve high quality bug free silicon.

Who You'll Work With

Work with product line management, systems and software engineering, ASIC architecture and physical design teams to define and execute ASIC projects.

Who You Are

Must have a BS or MS degree in either EE or CS and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant management experience in high performance ASIC development from concept to production.
Should have experience both as a technical lead as well as a project manager.
Must also have a strong understanding of all phases of front-end development in ASIC projects, including ASIC architecture, micro-architecture, RTL design, verification, timing closure, physical design and lab validation. Experience in high performance networking silicon is highly desired.
Should be a proven leader, be able to build and manage teams in a combination of solid and dotted line management.
Requires hands-on experience with all stages of VLSI development as well as a proven track record of building and leading interdisciplinary teams in a similar setting.

Ability to scope a VLSI development program end to end
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability and willingness to pull-up their sleeves and dive into hands-on work in any aspect of the program that is facing challenges towards a prompt and effective resolution
Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
A successful candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
