Rackspace is seeking a presales Solution Architect to join our Professional Services team full time in San Antonio or Remote Work from Home in the USA for exceptional candidates.

+ Responsible for serving customers requiring consulting for infrastructure consolidation, transformation, and optimization of dedicated and multi-cloud environments.
+ Utilizes a highly strategic, highly consultative framework with large, complex customers and prospects.
+ Aligns customer business strategies and IT architecture via Rackspace products and services.
+ Perform professional services Solution offering development and lifecycle management to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness as Solution Architect and thought leader.
+ Define and develop Rackspace professional services Solution offerings to achieve an out of the box, integrated experience that is consistent with Rackspace’s product, solution architecture and principles.
+ Works closely with senior leadership of client organizations as well as key technical personnel.
+ Provide FANATICAL experienceby driving the value of Rackspace to both potential and existing Rackspace customers and internal sales teams alike.
+ Orchestrate, Lead, and Support pre and post sales and delivery efforts inclusive of holistic IT optimization, consolidation, and transformation solutions for customers inclusive of discovery, analysis, solution design, and migration.
+ Lead and deliver the sale of assessment services, business case development, solution architecture, and multi-phased complex migration programs that address technology, people/organization, and process.
+ Lead facilitation of group white-boarding sessions to articulate Rackspace solutions, transformation methodology, functional separation of customer applications, and development of business case value with financial calculations such as TCO and ROI.
+ Understand overall industry trends in your specialty, customer buying behavior, and competitor products in order to assess opportunities and develop winning solutions.
+ Develop consulting and engineering Solutions for use by Rackspace Professional Services architects and engineers with clients in their planning and execution of infrastructure consolidation, transformation, and optimization of dedicated and multi-cloud environments.
+ Aligns and regularly communicates with Project Manager and extended teams during presales and project delivery to ensure timely delivery and awareness of potential problems or risk requiring resolution or mitigation.
+ Prepares and develops statements of work inclusive of overview, scope, duration, deliverables, resources, terms and conditions, assumptions, and pricing.
+ Understand complex IT and business customer challenges and apply technology and product portfolio knowledge to solve problems in a consultative manner.
+ Perpetually seek to improve and refine the Rackspace Professional Services methodology, deliverables, sales collateral, and team roles and alignment.
+ Build and maintain a network of cross-functional technical resources within Rackspace and across any relative partnerships to allow for higher productivity, increased business, and rapid resolution of problems and escalations.
+ Expert knowledge of data center strategy & operations, capacity, utilization, disaster recovery, and migration & consolidation and best practices.
+ Advanced working knowledge of infrastructure, such as virtualization technologies, operating systems, platform migration, data management, networking, facilities, and operational facilities.
+ Expert knowledge of application architecture such as client/server, n-tier, SOA, etc.
+ Experience with common as-a-Service offerings with various service providers across various solution stacks (infrastructure, platform, software). Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management and Service Delivery.
+ Creative thinker with the ability to problem-solve, plan and align work to ensure accountability.
+ Excels at leading client interactions using a consultative approach andstrong presentation skills.
+ Excels at cross-group collaboration with exceptional written and verbal communication skill
+ Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.

+ Strong organizational and cross-team communication skills.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related technical field.
+ 10+ years of industry experience in client facing professional services, technical support, and/or pre or post sales engineering and architecture role.
+ Requires exposure to a range of IT environments, industry sectors & technology stacks.
+ ITIL certification preferred.
+ Advanced degree preferred.
+ Extensive managed services, consulting, technical support, and/or application development experience preferred.
+ Additional experience may substitute for the degree at a rate of 3 years of experience for 1 year of education.
+ 50% travel may be required for this position
