Full Job Description
Houston Heart Rhythm is looking to bring a qualified, Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a growing, fast paced medical office searching for a team member to become apart of the team. This is a full time position working Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Duties:
- Triage patients and document basic medical history
- Initiate and update the patient medical record
- Assist during medical examinations and minor surgeries
- Triage patients
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Obtain medical records from other facilities prior to the time of the patients office visit.
- Answer and respond to patients calls/messages
- Perform prior authorizations
- Scheduling/rescheduling appointments (follow ups and procedures)
- Complete forms (workers comp, disability etc)
- Correspond with pharmacies, doctors and nurse practitioners
- Must have excellent verbal, written and communication skills
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information.
- Additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service skills, able to multi-task, superior telephone skills, good time management, able to stay organized, attention to detail, patient, quality focused, problem solver
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and accomplish work.
- Efficient keyboarding and data entry skills
- Proficiency in E-Clinical works (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have 2-3 years of experience in a Medical setting, preferably Cardiology
- Able to work under pressure and handle change well
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour ( depending on experience)
