Responsible for the leadership and the development, implementation and management of all Quality Assurance Systems aligning to regulatory compliance, Food Safety Plans, and company guarantees. Provides support to ensure compliance to SQF, regulatory requirements, Supplier Management, product quality, and food safety. Includes oversight in developing and reviewing quality and safety policies and support audits by third-party inspectors. Supervise Quality Regulatory Specialist, who is responsible for Controlled Documents, Food Safety Training, and monthly internal GMP-walks, and act as a back-up for those duties. Oversee overarching Quality systems such as Internal Audits, Quality Schedules, Food Safety Programs, and Supplier Approval and Management.

Responsibilities of the Position
Supplier Management Program: Qualifies suppliers against Food safety standards and regulations. Communicate and hold suppliers accountable to meet the performance standard. Partner with vendors and audit facilities, as needed. Ensures compliance of cw packaging components through document review, supplier qualification and analytical testing.
Regulatory Compliance: Under the Directory of Quality Assurance, supports and maintain quality programs/systems to ensure all products are co-manufactured at the highest quality/food safety standards and within customer specification. Responsible for assuring that all Work Instructions (WIs) and FDA regulatory requirements are being met i.e. HACCP, FSP (Food Safety Plans), SSOP, GMP's, MAV's etc. Completes or prepares compliance documentation and declarations in accordance with client requirements. Provides technical support to cw departments and clients as needed with respect to regulatory compliance. Enforce company rules regarding safety, discipline, cooperation and teamwork. Perform internal audit processes and procedures.
Goals and Metrics should be driven around but not limited to: Report and improve defect analysis, corrective actions, implementation status and effectiveness. Can interpret data and provide meaningful analysis of information.

Bachelor of Science food science or related degree.
5 years or more in production/operations management position in a food manufacturing environment and shall include food safety and quality control management experience.
Vendor Qualification and management experience preferred
PCQI / SQF Practitioner Preferred
English and Spanish a plus.

Food Safety Responsibilities
Attend all food safety training sessions and Food Safety Team Meetings
Enforce company rules regarding food safety, discipline, and regulations
Report to top management on effectiveness of food safety and quality management systems.
Work cross-functionally as part of the Management Team on Food Safety Plan.
Ensures that food safety and quality management systems are established, implemented, and updated.
Aware of all customer, and regulatory requirements on food safety and quality management systems.
Support the Food Safety Team and act as Back-up Food Safety Team Leader and ensure training of the food safety team members.
