Full Job Description
Our mission is to help people everywhere find a job and company they love. We're transforming an entire industry through the power of transparency. As the worldwide leader in employer branding and insights, our vision is for a world where transparency holds companies accountable to strive to become better employers.
Please note this role is open to remote hiring. Our main office locations are in San Francisco, CA, Chicago, IL and Uniontown, OH. If this job is of interest to you, we encourage you to apply by submitting a résumé in English, as our hiring team is based out of the UK/USA.
Looking for your next challenge? Over the past 10 years, Glassdoor has become one of the top products in the careers and employment vertical, with 63+ million unique users worldwide, and thousands of business customers. Our unique blend of job search tools and anonymous user-generated content about companies has made us quite popular in the US, UK, and Canada, and we're now investing in growth in Germany, France and other European markets.
SEO and earned media have been essential to Glassdoor's growth from the beginning, and we want to reproduce our SEO success in Germany. While our site is built well for SEO, and we've been quite successful in English, we know that succeeding in Germany will require German-speaking SEO expertise. We are hiring an SEO Specialist whose main goal is organic search traffic in Germany and other German-speaking countries.
What You'll Do:
Develop, manage, and evolve our SEO strategy & vision in Germany to grow our audience.
Advise our SEO engineering team about German-specific technical improvements we can make to the site.
Work with product teams and advocate for new feature launches by conducting keyword research and traffic forecasting.
Regularly audit the German site and work with engineering teams to fix technical issues (e.g. slow page load speeds, page crawl errors, and duplicate content)
Develop experiments using our SEO testing platform. For example, should our compensation product be called Gehälter or Lohn?
Supervise SEO traffic, rankings, and Googlebot activity for existing and new products
Collaborate with EMEA SEO Specialists and support US-based international product teams on non-German SEO initiatives
Lead our efforts to produce evergreen SEO-friendly article content, including developing the content strategy and managing writers.
Collaborate with our product team on other non-SEO growth tactics, such as email, social media optimization, and conversion optimization
Analyze the results of our SEO efforts, identify our successes and failures and make recommendations to the product and editorial teams
What You'll Bring:
2-6 years proven experience in SEO or related fields.
Expertise and passion for technical SEO, content marketing, and SEO copywriting.
Advanced skills in quantitative data analysis, especially marketing and SEO data. Strong Excel skills. SQL is a plus.
Prior experience working for a large-scale content publisher, user-generated content, e-commerce, news, or social site is preferred.
Skilled user of online project management and collaboration tools, including Google sheets, Jira, Asana, Slack, etc.
Comfortable writing and editing HTML-formatted content.
Proficient user of content management systems, including WordPress, Drupal, etc.
Expertise with SEO software tools used in keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building.
Strong marketing and eye for business.
Comfortable working with a globally distributed team. You'll interact daily with our EMEA marketing team based in London, and SEO and engineering teams based in San Francisco and Chicago.
