Southern Pharmacy Clinical Management, LLP isis a Pharmaceutical Services Company headquartered in Gulfport, Mississippi with team members throughout the United States. We provide physicians with the ability to provide their patients fast and convenient access to medications directly from the pharmacy, physician’s office or by mail. Southern Pharmacy Rx is experiencing tremendous growth throughout the United States. Our pharmacies typically operate during standard practice hours and are closed nights and weekends.

As a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), You will work under the direction of the Pharmacy Operations Manager supporting the mission, vision and values of Southern Pharmacy Clinical Management, LLP. You will work with the operations manager in supervising pharmacy operations to achieve business objectives by increasing sales and gross margins, managing equipment, limiting expenses, directing operations to minimize wait times, monitoring department performance metrics, upholding proper pharmacy and general safety procedures & standards, and partnering with management to help meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume.

Position Summary

Collaborates and partners with Physicians and staff to improve patient compliance and achieve positive patient outcomes. Accountable for: regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, financial profitability and loss prevention.

This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree and an active Pharmacy License in good standing in the state of Indiana. Out of state licensure a plus. Three to five years’ experience in the practice of pharmacy; two to three years’ experience in pharmacy management preferred; and one year of experience working with the patient management program.

Other Responsibilities:

  • As the PIC you will ensure state and federal compliance with all aspects of the Pharmacy, as well as:
  • Reviewing and executing physician’s prescriptions
  • Helping to create and maintain positive Pharmacy –Physician relationships, as well as with patients
  • Organizing the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
  • Work closely with pharmacy operational manager ensuring compliance and efficient process for delivering, stocking and labeling medicine and other products
  • Maintains records of all transactions of the pharmacy necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations and effectively utilize the Pharmacy Management System
  • Dispense medications as prescribed by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities

  • Oversees Pharmacy Technicians in serving customers and verifies the accuracy of prescription entry through completion of the dispense
  • Fills prescriptions and maintains detailed and accurate records of all prescription transactions
  • Answers pharmaceutical and management questions from patients and staff
  • Maintain inventory levels to company goals, order product, rotate stock, comply with recalls, and utilize return process
  • Provides patient consultation and advise on drug utilization, interactions, and general medication protocols

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (Doctor of Pharmacy Degree preferred)
  • Must be an actively licensed Registered Pharmacist in the state of Mississippi as well as other states
  • At least 3 years of experience preferred with Pharmacy leadership shown
  • Experience building a pharmacy team
  • Knowledge of laws governing drugs, pharmacy products, and third-party plans
  • Understanding of claims billing and collections preferred
  • Ship Station (knowledge/understanding)
  • Working in Clinical and/or Hospital Pharmacy preferred
