PURPOSE:
The Quality Reporting (QR) Analyst is a member of the Galen HIT health care team. The primary responsibility is to test, analyze, report and track improvements for quality measures, related system software, and interfaces that enable enhanced metric performance. In addition, they will work with internal and external customers towards the improvement of the technical aspects of quality measures in the electronic medical record (EMR), and participate in quality payment program reporting and audits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Test function in the electronic medical record (EMR) related to quality measure (QM) specifications of Quality Payment Program (QPP) and Payers program adherence.
Coordination and analysis capabilities for technical needs of HIT systems and applications towards quality reporting requirements such as recommendations towards fixing deficiencies and documentation automation in EMR for quality measures
Setup and annual Testing for QM related interfaces
Track/document measure testing findings and communication with external customers towards resolving issues in the EMR
Update MIPS scorecard
Include measure educational Tips based on the ongoing measure audit findings in the monthly scorecard that is sent to providers, managers, and superusers
Assist with the audit of provider scores, analyzing educational needs of providers and staff to meet measure targets
Assist with communication of provider/staff measure educational needs to appropriate HIT personnel or Value-Based Care (VBC) manager as needed
Review Help Desk tickets for quality measure-related questions or issues
Assist in creating/updating quality measure training documents and videos towards enhanced EMR user experience
Monitor and report annual changes for QPP categories and quality measure adherence and reporting
Update HIT Director on EMR / Quality Reporting related to new government requirements and deadlines
Interact with payer staff as needed on technical aspects of measure reporting and closing gaps such as troubleshooting CCDs for measure compliance and payer flat file submissions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to utilize clinical knowledge towards evaluation of measures specifications application and documentation in the EMR

Maintain general knowledge of Galen interfaces towards measure adherence
Ability to work independently and with different applications, vendors, customers and staff to assist and/or resolve problems

Education:
Nursing license - preferred
Health Informatics degree or certificate - preferred
Technical education a plus
Experience:
Clinical Quality measure experience
Minimum of two years working for a healthcare organization
Minimum of one year working in health informatics role - preferred
Clinical and coding experience a plus
Knowledgeable in MS Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Web Browser Applications
