Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in 100+ Residential and Commercial warehouses across North America, with total inventory values in excess of $80 million and supporting projected revenues of more than $1 billion. Through use of Opex fundamentals, Analysts utilize MDI to drive continuous improvement around all inventory related functions in their assigned warehouse locations.

Analysts are in charge of managing the cycle counting program in accordance with BOS standards, investigating and approving cycle count adjustments, running metrics and updating pareto charts to reflect warehouse performance through MDI. Locations hitting cycle counting targets may be selected for a Physical Inventory Exemption (PIE) audit facilitated by the Analyst, and if passed will be given an exemption from annual PI counts.
For locations without a PIE, the Analyst is responsible for setting up, organizing and executing annual Physical Inventory counts including initial set up in Oracle R12, determining recounts, investigating discrepancies and approving adjustments.
Analysts provide support to teams across the SBU by acting as a first point of contact to sales and customer service, finance, deployment, sourced products, and field warehousing and factory operations on all inventory related issues including no stocks, no scans, inbound and outbound shipping errors, scrap transactions and all other inventory adjustments or inquiries.
Analysts will complete the 9 Step Problem Solving and LEAN training courses, and will implement the practices learned in these courses into their everyday work. Analysts are responsible for opening and facilitating 9 Steps, A3s and JDIs in assigned warehouses not meeting metric targets.

Responsibilities:
Maintain inventory accuracy for all 100+ RS & Express warehouse locations. Run reports as needed to investigate discrepancies and identify and analyze trends, ensuring annual inventory variance of <1% for each warehouse
Manage and execute the cycle counting program within BOS standards and in accordance with department standard work and LOA approval chain
Plan and facilitate annual Physical Inventory counts in assigned locations, ensure annual PI shrink of <1%
Research and correct all inbound shipping errors from factories and adjust inventories accordingly
Research and correct all outbound shipping errors to ensure correct customer billing and warehouse inventory
Run monthly sourced product scrap report
Process scrap transactions and track warehouse completion of all scrap requests within approved timeframe
Open and lead 9 Steps, A3s and JDIs for assigned locations as needed to drive continuous improvement
Plan and organize damaged product returns back to factories and track financial dispositions
Track and pareto all inventory related discrepancies for MDI including no stocks, no scans, inbound shipping errors, outbound shipping errors and account alias transactions
Lead monthly calls with District Warehouse Managers to discuss metrics and actions to drive improvement
Maintain accurate documentation and records of all restricted product due to manufacturing and quality holds (QHLD)
Establish and maintain professional and courteous relationships with warehouse and factory personnel, District Warehouse Managers and Regional Distribution Managers
Write new and enhance existing team standard work as needed
Any other tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Material Control Manager

Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectively through email, in writing, and orally
Ability to work in and enhance a team environment
Comprehensive knowledge of Trane inventory and distribution systems preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Trane customers and their requirements preferred
General knowledge of Trane residential and commercial products preferred
Dealer and/or Distributor Customer Service experience preferred
Working knowledge of Oracle R12 and Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook a plus
Bachelor's degree required
