A sustainable rancher-owned beef company seeks an Operations Manager to join their entrepreneurial-minded team. Located in Northern California, they are a rapidly growing producer and marketer of beef and value-added beef products. This position will be a part of a dynamic team responsible for creating amazing products and getting them into the hands of customers and, ultimately, the consumers. This position will be based out of Woodland, CA.
Manage production of third party co-manufacturing facilities including forecasting and production scheduling.
Coordinate with sales and other operations staff; provide product availability updates and raw material needs to procurement team.
Provide projection needs for new production launches and assume costing responsibilities from R&D after new value added products launch.
Manage product transportation transfers between facilities; coordinate with operations team on product transportation needs.
Track and report raw material and supplies inventory. Collaborate with accounting on monthly inventory.
Perform data entry/record keeping on value added items as well as maintain existing models for value added products; supply cost projections to management.
Track yields and costing variance against targets to contribute to efficient production.
Set up shipping requirements with freight companies.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of two years’ of progressively responsible experience in operations or product development roles.
Meat knowledge required, beef knowledge preferred.
Highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to keep multiple projects on track simultaneously.
Ability to take ownership of assigned program and contribute to the current company culture; self-starter.
Strong verbal and written skills as well as inter-personal skills to engage and interact with functional leaders, executive leadership, and various business partners.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
