Job Description

BSEn's Technical Services Division provides a variety of support for the military and private defense contractors. We currently provide technical and training support services to enhance Air Combat Training System (ACTS) and Air Combat Range services at many locations throughout the world. This position, located at Naval Air Station Key West, FL, provides instrumentation systems services to support training and exercise requirements for U.S. Navy Flight operations in the Key West Tactical Training Range complex. Typical duties include: maintaining all TCTS airborne subsystems and associated equipment; coordinates pod repair and maintenance; performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all TCTS airborne subsystems and associated interface equipment; extensive equipment handling and administrative processing to prepare/deliver equipment to meet exercise requirements; packing equipment, parts, etc. for shipment; document maintenance actions in IEMS, various log books, and databases; supports special tests, evaluations, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations as required; coordinates integration efforts with associate contractors, and preforms organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance as well as corrosion control on assigned equipment. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement.

Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent

Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy "C" School or vocational school

Detailed understanding of equipment specifications, power interface requirements, AC/DC power supplies, digital/analog signal processing, circuit analysis, RF theory, and GPS principles/theory

Four years’ formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance:

DC power supplies

Test equipment

Low-voltage AC equipment

Primary and secondary power equipment

Two years’ TACTS/ACMI/TIS/AIS/TCTS experience (specifically in AS maintenance) preferred

Ability to speak, read, and write English

Minimum Position Specific Training Required

Physically capable of performing maintenance on remote TCTS sites including flying in, and loading/unloading equipment from helicopters

Physically able to assist in lifting/carrying 190 pound AS/PIP pods

Formal Tower Climbing Training

Able to climb/descend towers carrying equipment

Able to obtain a Flight Line equipment operators license within 90 days

DCID Secret Clearance or ability to obtain is required

Required Certifications:
Possess a valid state Driver’s License

Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification

Reports to: Assigned Senior Technician or Supervisor

Citizenship and Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizen/ /Secret Clearance or ability to obtain required
