Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer



The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is seeking to hire a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) / Chief Operating Officer (COO). The CFO / COO is accountable for all aspects of the financial management, planning, and analysis including reporting of statutory reporting and record management, as well as the overall operations of the organization. The position is responsible for providing services to all BCIU Offices to ensure that they have the accurate information they need to deliver their objectives and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the CFO / COO focuses on ensuring the BCIU maintains efficient and effective financial and operating systems and processes, high service levels, and accountability across its core business and operations functions, while continuously seeking to improve resource utilization. The CFO / COO maintains continuous lines of communication with leadership team members and keeps the Executive Director informed of all critical issues. The incumbent has senior leadership team responsibility for financial management and organization operations to support and ensure effective organization services and activities to achieve the overall mission.

Education requirements: Undergraduate degree from a recognized university in finance, accounting, business administration, or other quantitative discipline relevant to the position. Master’s level degree in business with at least 10 years of management and team leadership in a service-oriented organization. Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
