Job Summary:
The System Administrator I will provide support for user desktops as well as minor administration tasks with company servers and specialized appliances.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Deploy user desktop/laptop systems consistent with established configurations
- Install and upgrade software on user systems including Operating System patches
- Maintain records on the company IT assets that have been distributed to the users
- Work with the customer (end users) to understand their computing needs and make sure their system can accommodate their use case
- Monitor systems for appropriate use in accordance with established IT policies
- Create and maintain user accounts for the various systems we manage
- Backup and restore user data and profiles
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on end user systems
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Highly skilled in troubleshooting techniques
Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:
- Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- Up to two (2) years of system administration and network administration experience
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Outlook
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- May be required to work unpredictable hours in emergencies
