Full Job Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the Distribution Center in all areas related to the Human Resources function including but not limited to employee relations, policy implementation, payroll, recruitment, training and development, benefit and leave administration as well as the accurate and timely reporting of information to employees and management of the company.
Assists HR Leadership & DC Management with development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align workforce with the strategic goals of DC. Helps establish measurements that support strategic goals. Makes recommendations to management on employee related issues. Helps lead employment engagement process to include surveys, action plans, and engagement activities.
Employee Relations / Legal Compliance
Ensures legal compliance in all areas. Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits. Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and government laws & regulations. Assists with development and maintenance of policies for the DC. Partners with management to communicate HR policies & procedures. Conducts investigations on employee complaints and concerns. Makes recommendations on progressive discipline. Counsels managers on employment issues.
Manage and ensures timely and accurate processing of the incentive payroll for the distribution center. Will oversee payroll team and work closely with corporate to meet tight payroll deadlines.
Organizational Development & Training
Assists with carrying out the process of organization development that addresses issues such as succession planning, workforce development, employee retention, organization design, and change management. Assists with the implementation of the performance management system that includes performance development plans (PDPs) and individual development plans (IDP’s) and employee development programs. Provides necessary education and training materials including, workshops, handbooks, and facilitation.
Safety & Health
Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs. Takes an active role in health and safety committees. Tracks and posts OSHA-required data. Leads accident investigations and manages workers compensation claims. Works with management to ensure a safe and secure work environment.
Other Job Responsibilities
Manages the recruitment process for DC using effective recruiting strategies necessary to recruit and hire a superior workforce. Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the DC as necessary or requested. Makes pay recommendations based on internal equity and established pay structures. Schedules and facilitates benefits orientations and other benefits training.
Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources or Related field.
5-7 years of human resources experience with a generalist focus
3-5 years of human resources management experience preferred
Specific knowledge of several human resources processes and practices (employment law/compliance, compensation, organizational development, leadership development, hiring/termination processes, risk management)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Experience with Workday or other similar HRIS programs preferred
Distribution or Manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to work autonomously; superb organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills and mentality
Excellent Communication Skills (Verbal, Written, Presentation)
Strong Interpersonal Skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Bilingual in English/Spanish - Required
