Chesapeake Nurseries is seeking hard-working individuals who enjoy working outdoors and being rewarded for high productivity and work ethic. Nursery worker positions involve plant handling, digging, weeding, pruning, planting, truck loading, and many other duties and responsibilities that are involved in growing our quality plants.

Salary Base pay starts at $10.50 with piece-work hourly potentials that can reach $22.00 or more per hour, depending on the job. Chesapeake offers many opportunities to grow and advance your career in Nursery Management.
Reports to Crew Leader/Supervisor
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
The employee will be expected to work outside in all kinds of weather and must have suitable clothing and footwear.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must have the ability to lift at least 50 pounds and be able to bend and move in and between greenhouses. The employee must also be able to repeatedly carry 15-20 pounds the length of a greenhouse.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during off seasons, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 during the peak seasons and some Saturdays during peak seasons as well.
No extensive travel is expected with this position.
