We are seeking a talented individual for a Business Solution Architect (BSA)whoensures alignment with the HMS business partners to maximize IT delivery. As part of the responsibilities, the BSA engages with senior business partners to develop the strategic direction document future state Business Requirements and process flows, and lead the design and delivery of new capabilities that optimize use of legacy environments and enterprise architectures. Key solution areas include Coordination of Benefits (COB), Payment Integrity (PI) and upcoming acquisitions as they are integrated into the core HMS solution portfolio. Works closely with decision makers in all solution departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Cultivates, disseminates and enforces all functional policies, procedures, and best practices.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical design based on business requirements
  • Provides framework around internal solution development through end-to-end governance processes
  • Communicates and coordinates with cross functional teams to ensure business objectives are met
  • Develops, tests and deploys software applications/systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
  • Modifies existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance
  • Works with Business Systems Analysts to ensure programming code meets business requirements
  • Monitors functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications
  • Consults with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develops specifications and performance requirements and resolves customer problems
  • Coordinates installation of software system
  • Provides guidance and mentoring in technical areas to a team of Developer/Analysts
  • Documents and submits status reports to leadership
  • Provides guidance on new technologies/methodologies
  • Enforces and integrates best practices and technology practices and technology standards across the organization

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to apply mastery level knowledge in C#/.NET
  • Ability to apply mastery level knowledge of Microsoft stack application architecture, design, development tools, and languages (C#, .NET, XAML, WCF, ASP.NET, SQL, Javascript, SOAP, XML/XSLT, HTML)
  • Ability to apply mastery knowledge of n-tier application architectures using Microsoft technology stacks
  • Ability to apply mastery knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, DB2, Sybase, SQL, Teradata, Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11i)
  • Knowledgeable in various SDLC methodologies
  • Ability to apply mastery knowledge of Change Management systems and processes
  • Ability to perform conflict management
  • Ability to drive change, mentor, coach and counsel in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
  • Ability to be careful and thorough with detail

Work Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Primarily sedentary work in a general office environment
  • Requires occasional (0-40%) standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects
  • Requires manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents
  • Some travel may be required, no more than 25% of time

Minimum Education:

  • MS/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and/or equivalent experience

Minimum Related Work Experience:

  • 10+ years IT leadership experience in healthcare claims adjudication including claims system integration, claims system deployment, or revenue cycle management.
  • 7+ years of consulting experience or application design, software development, maintenance and delivery in a fast growing, complex and geographically diverse environment. Requires dynamic leadership skills and the ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in selection, oversight and management of outside consultants and contractors, both on and offshore. Healthcare Insurance experience required.
