Job Title: Receiving Manager

Department: Shipping/Receiving Department

Reports To: Director of Operations

Summary

Receiving Manager is responsible for all tasks involved with smooth daily operations of the Receiving Department, includes processing, verification and record keeping on incoming shipments as well as hiring & training of Receiving Team Members and their productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.

  • Supervise the activities of distribution staff engaged in receiving products.
  • Interview, select, and train warehouse and team lead personnel
  • Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities
  • Ensures timely and accurate input of all incoming product information through the Inventory Management System
  • Controls the flow of transfer product to the event staff and works with Production Manager and Shipping Manager to ensure orders are processed and completed within assigned deadlines.
  • Communicate daily with MainGate teams to direct workflow and ensure priority PO’s are processed accordingly.
  • Communicates with event department and Inventory Manager to schedule inbound and outbound transfers to and from MainGate warehouses.
  • General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.
  • Updates production and inventory reports to track and access levels workload and staffing demand.
  • Controls inbound flow of freight, must work closely with Shipping Manager
  • Solid communication skills to lead cross functional teams in achieving desired results
  • Coordinate budget goals based on business assessments and knowledge of field
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

Three to five years industry experience required.

Degree from an accredited institution in business, management or related field

Personnel management experience needed

WMS/TWL experience a plus

Valid driver’s license

Proficient and highest level of knowledge on MainGate’s systems, policies & procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages employees in the Receiving Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Physical Demands

Some physical exertion required.

Must occasionally lift and/or move 0 to 75 pounds.

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.

Personal protective equipment not required.

Work Environment

Works in a distribution center environment. Distribution Center environment is not climate controlled. Will be exposed to dust, odors, and noise.
