As a Direct Support Professional FLOATS (DSP) with Independence Inc. you'll be one of those special people.
Our Float DSPs (Caregivers) are the link to the community for those individuals they serve. For some, they may be the eyes of those unable to see, or the voice for those who can't speak. For others, they are friend, cheerleader and subtle support on the path to one's potential.
Our Floats’s are the reflection of the wonderful mission driven work we do daily. Those who carry out this rewarding, care giving support play an integral and crucial role in the success of our organization.
The Floats also is a great starting point for numerous or various careers option within our organization. We have many success stories from staff at all levels that started out in the DSP role. Floats are trained at every site and would need to be available from 1p-12a. Floats are directly under the AOC and are used for call off's and open shifts. Floats are off one day during the week and every other weekend.

Independence of Portage County Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals/Caregivers to provide assistance in community-based settings. DSPs provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration; personal care, and implementing therapeutic/behavioral plans.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Valid Ohio driver’s license, responsible driving record and proof of vehicle insurance required
- Acceptable background check
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
