Position Summary: The Floor Planner is responsible to develop and communicate merchandising processes and standards. Create store merchandise plans that optimize store sales, profit and customer shopping experience. Ensure store layouts for new platforms meet work cell design priority, associate efficiencies and project timeline. Provide project management oversight and work cross functionally with key partners to implement marketing initiatives and new platforms across all stores.

Principal Duties:
Create performance driven store layouts for existing store models based on category placement, market basket, marketing initiatives and GP performance of categories. Ensure store layouts support Food Service and Center of Store initiatives. Continuously reconcile space to sales and profit analysis and ensure that stores are set up to optimize sales, profitability and customer shopping experience.
Develop and adopt merchandising processes and standards. Manage customization and challenges in custom store layouts. Communicate layout strategies to Category Teams, Store Operations, Store Design, Field Merchandise and external architects. Benchmark retailers for merchandising processes and provide retailer insight to marketing teams.
Utilize tools, metrics and software to best allocate space. Define parameters and optimize store floor plans. Provide insight, guidance and recommendations to key teams regarding new store prototypes, remodel processes, fixtures, category space and adjacencies. Analyze results and make appropriate refinements. Resolve floor plan related issues and concerns.
Develop production layouts and drawings for new stores, remodels and special projects (floor plans, equipment plans and elevations) in preparation for full construction documents using AutoCAD. Work with internal partners and external architects (C&P, AECom and Menemsha) to ensure accuracy and integrity of store drawings. Participate in cross functional store tours. Observe store environment, collect feedback from store associates and apply learnings to future drawings.
Responsible for the development of detailed drawings to support tests and rollouts of new Foodservice programs and initiatives in all existing stores. Collaborate with FSI, Operations Engineers and Retail Implementation to ensure store layouts for new platforms meet work cell design priority, associate efficiencies, and project timeline.
Develop and maintain AutoCAD block library. Provide electronic access of block library to all internal and external partners. Preserve the integrity of drawings by ensuring accurate creation of all blocks.
Ensure store drawings and merchandise plans comply with zoning requirements including but not limited to Building, Health and Fire Code.

Minimum Requirements

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
3+ years space management experience
Knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD required
JDA Software Certification preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
