Position Summary:
This position is responsible for planning, directing, executing, evaluating and overseeing the all aspects of the refinery’s engineering and technology processes. Collaborates with senior management team in setting and managing company-wide goals and objectives. It will maximize value to the corporation through effective management, leadership and the consolidation and improvement of engineering programs and processes. Responsible for managing and overseeing engineering and technical support employees.

Representative Responsibilities:
Manages weekly, monthly and 90-day refinery run plans.Oversees employee communication with Operations, Environmental and other departments to ensure that the planning of engineering work is in-line with refinery priorities
Implements best practices across the organization as it pertains to technology areas
Provides executive management with comprehensive recommendations that improve capital projects, equipment reliability and operating unit availability
Evaluates, develops, and implements a technology vision for the company to ensure that the organization is technologically prepared to
meet its objectives in the future
Responsible for Oversight of compliance with HSE standards
Controls budget expenditure to ensure that spending remains within budget

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably in Chemical Engineering. Master’s degree is preferable
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment with sufficient flexibility to respond in cultural and infrastructure situations

Experience:
Must have a minimum of 15 - 20 years of progressively responsible experience in process engineering and 5 years supervising employees
Must have multi-refinery experience and ideally experience in both US and non-US refineries
Demonstrated experience with Strategic Planning, Effective Leadership, International Business Focus, Management Strategies, High Performance and Decision Making Teams

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point and familiar with purchasing E-procurement software and SAP purchasing module
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Proven negotiating skills
Ability to work/lead cross-functional projects or initiatives within and/or outside of the organization
Ability to lead multiple projects or initiatives using project management methodology such as project scope, timeline, gap analysis, recommendations, and implementation
Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, able to create and implement new opportunities/processes
Demonstrated knowledge and implementation experience in engineering industry best practices
Strong budgeting, forecasting, economic evaluation and statistical analysis skills

Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Work is generally in an office setting
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, push and pull, reach overhead, operate hand tools, stoop and squat, wear breathing apparatus, enter confined spaces and utilize all necessary personal protective equipment
